“Writing, to me, is simply thinking through my fingers.” - Isaac Asimov
Isaac Asimov was one of the most prolific authors of the 20th century. During his writing career, he wrote a total of 467 books, which is a seriously impressive 10 books a year on average! He wrote about many different things, but he’s most famous for his very detailed and inspiring opus of science fiction. His ideas were so great that his style of writing had to be very simple and clear, unornamented and mostly based on bare dialogues.
You might think a person who invented the word “robotics” and its laws would have a bit more futuristic accessories in his closet, but Asimov was a true follower of the fashion trends. His mind might have been decades ahead of his time, but his clothing style wasn’t something that he was experimenting with. You could often see him wearing a drape suit, which was extremely popular during 1940’s and 1950’s. The suit was enriched with a bootlace tie which consisted of a piece of cord or braided leather, and an ornamental clasp or slide in the middle where the regular tie’s knot would be. But his most recognisable feature were definitely his sideburns which would wildly stand out, perfectly framing his face. In total, he looked classy and old school, but his big black framed glasses and giant sideburns did bring a little bit of crazy scientist look to him.
Our Asimov bow tie made of interlocking squares is the perfect representation of his thriving mind and simple style. The houndstooth-esque pattern also perfectly reflects the 1940s style he donned so well. And with the possibility of choosing your own color, you can modify it so it reflects your mind and your style.
